Surrendering is an easy way of coming out of a bad situation. If your starting hand is too hand to be played, you can choose to surrender and get half of your bet back. This must occur before neither you nor the dealer has made any changes to your current hands. However, this is not possible everywhere; in these cases hitting is advised.
Insurance is something you choose to buy when the dealer’s card that is facing up is an Ace. It represents a bet on the fact that the dealer has a natural 21. The bet play 2:1. It is always worth half of your original bet.
Whilst aiming to build up a strong hand, so is the dealer. However, they cannot split nor double down. Usually they have to hit until their hand is 17 or higher.
If a player has blackjack (21) and the dealer also has blackjack, the bet is pushed; this means you get your money back. If you and the other player both bust (go over 21), then the house wins.
