Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg
Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg is a casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana that is housed on a stationary boat due to state gambling laws. The casino is owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and is operated by Penn National Gaming. Originally the casino was called Argosy Casino and was operated by Argosy Gaming Company, which sold out to Penn Gaming in 2004.
Penn National Gaming operated all of its casinos under the Hollywood brand, and the Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg changed its name. The original riverboat the housed the casino was not big enough, so in 2009 Penn National unveiled a much larger one with a passenger capacity of nearly 9000 guests and 4400 gaming positions. The new boat also served to mark the occasion for the changeover from Argosy to Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg.
